Single tunnels (Solo) — free-standing tunnels on ground anchors
A single tunnel is a free-standing polytunnel in which each hoop is anchored on both sides in its own ground anchors screwed into the soil. It is easy to move to another field, and it is warmer inside — that is why it works well for a very early crop.
Width 6–11 m, round or gothic arch, up to 5 m high on upset anchors.
- from 28 zł/m² net with film, excluding transport and assembly
- 6–11 m width, round or gothic arch
- up to 5 m high on upset anchors
- E370+Z275 anchor steel
- 3 years warranty on the film
What a single tunnel is for
Single tunnels extend the growing season: plants can also be grown in late autumn, winter and early spring. The structure protects the crop from rain, wind and snow, and light ground anchors let you dismantle the tunnel quickly and move it to another plot when you change the rotation or the crop.
- Mobility
- The structure can be dismantled and set up on another field — ground anchors are screwed into the soil without foundations.
- Earlier crop
- A single tunnel is warmer, so it works better for very early production.
- Strong ground anchors
- Ground anchors in E370+Z275 steel — c. 10% stronger than S350+Z275, at the same price.
- Up to 5 m high
- Upset anchors 1.25–2.0 m allow very high tunnels, e.g. over trees.
Technical specification
Ground anchors
We match anchor length to the soil type and the crop. Ground anchors in E370+Z275 steel.
| Variant | Diameter | Anchor lengths | When to choose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo 40 | Ø40 mm | 700, 850, 1000 mm | light, seasonal crops and smaller areas with a low load |
| Solo 50 | Ø50.8 mm (2″) | 700, 850, 1000 mm | budget variant — clearly stronger than Ø40, cheaper than Ø60.3 |
| Solo 60 | Ø60.3 mm (2 3/8″) | 700, 850, 1000 mm; with an upset 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 / 2.0 m | most often chosen by professionals; with an upset — tunnels up to 5 m high |
Hoop tubes
Hoops determine the shape and strength of the tunnel. We make them from S350+Z275 steel.
| Profile | Size | Use |
|---|---|---|
| round | Ø40 mm | light garden and seasonal tunnels |
| round | Ø50.8 mm (2″) | standard for medium-size agricultural tunnels of medium load capacity |
| round | Ø60.3 mm (2 3/8″) | reinforced year-round tunnels of large span |
| oval | 80×40 mm | high stability at a moderate weight |
| oval | 90×50 mm | tunnels where wind and snow loads are critical |
Shape, dimensions, film
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Arch shape | round (even force distribution) or gothic (better rain and snow shedding) |
| Tunnel width | 6–11 m |
| Height | up to 5 m on upset anchors |
| Film | single, 150–200 µm; 3-year warranty on the film |
Reinforcements against wind and snow
In single tunnels the ridge tube is standard. You add T or V horizontal bracing as an option — it strengthens the tunnel most against snow.

Standard
Ridge tube
The tube runs the full length of the tunnel, 20 or 40 cm below the peak of the hoops.
It stiffens the tunnel from above and stops the arches from spreading.
Ridge tube: parametry Tube Ø35×1.5 mm Position 20 or 40 cm below the peak, along the full length of the tunnel Protects against spreading of the arches
Option
T or V horizontal bracing
A horizontal tube joins both sides of the arch. Together with the hoop it forms a truss.
It strengthens the tunnel most against snow.
- T
- a vertical tube from the horizontal bracing to the hoop
- V
- two short diagonal braces, left and right, from the horizontal bracing to the hoop (in the drawing)
T or V horizontal bracing: parametry Horizontal bracing Ø40×1.5 mm tube, length 4–7 m depending on bay width T and V members Ø35×1.5 mm tube Fitting on every hoop Protects against snow

Site visit
We match the tunnel type, bay width, tube profile and arch shape to the crop and the conditions in the field.
Production
We make the structure and accessories at our own plant in Bralin (Wielkopolska Voivodeship) — c. 10 ha of tunnels per month.
Delivery
We bring the packed parts to the field, and the tubes are bent on site, at the customer's. Transport is quoted separately.
Assembly
We assemble the tunnels as a full service or support your crew with our fitter. Assembly: from 8 zł/m² net.
Frequently asked questions
Can a single tunnel be moved to another field?
Yes. The tunnel stands on ground anchors screwed into the soil, without foundations, so the structure can be dismantled and set up on another plot.
Why does a single tunnel work better for an early crop?
A single tunnel is warmer than a multibay one, so we recommend it for very early production.
Which anchor length should I choose?
Anchors are 700, 850 or 1000 mm, and in the Ø60.3 mm variant also 1.25–2.0 m with an upset. We match the length to the soil type and tunnel height during the field visit.
How much does a single tunnel cost?
Single tunnels: from 28 zł/m² net for the steel structure with film, excluding transport and assembly. Assembly: from 8 zł/m² net.
How do I reinforce a single tunnel against wind and snow?
As standard a single tunnel has a Ø35×1.5 mm ridge tube, run 20 or 40 cm below the peak along the full length of the tunnel — it stiffens it from above and stops the arches from spreading. As an option we add horizontal bracing from Ø40×1.5 mm tube in a T or V variant, which together with the hoop forms a truss and strengthens the tunnel most against snow.
